Classifications

Active:
An active member shall be one who has graduated from or has successfully completed not less than the equivalent of two years in an undergraduate department of an accredited college or university; or who is a graduate of a professional or graduate school of a college or university, provided that, by the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the Board of Governors, a person may be elected to membership if, after successfully completing the equivalent of one year in an undergraduate department, or has served in the Armed Forces of the United States during hostilities. Only active members have the right to vote, hold office or have any interest in the property of the Club. Active membership is divided into five Classes:

Senior Membership
Senior members shall be those who have passed the first day of the quarter of the year following their respective thirty-fifth birthday.

Intermediate Membership
Intermediate members shall be those who have passed the first day of the quarter of the year following their thirty-fifth birthdays.  Upon reaching the age of thirty-five each intermediate member shall upon the first day of the quarter following automatically become a senior member  and shall thereafter pay the dues required of Senior members.

Junior Membership
Junior members shall be those who have not yet reached their respective thirtieth birthdays.  Upon reaching the age of thirty years each junior member shall upon the first day of the quarter following automatically become an intermediate member and shall thereafter pay the the dues required of intermediate members.

Life Membership
Life membership shall be those who have been active members of the Club for an aggregate period of fifty years or longer. Any life member who shall have been an active member of the Club for more than fifty years shall pay no dues. Life members shall retain all the privileges now or hereafter enjoyed by senior members and shall be subject to regulations pertaining to senior members.

Non-Resident
A non-resident member shall be one otherwise eligible for active membership who (a) does not maintain his or her principle residence or principle place of business in any county of Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana adjoining Hamilton County, Ohio, or within thirty-five miles of the Clubhouse in Cincinnati, whichever is farther, and (b) does not spend more than one-third of his or her time, business or otherwise, within such areas. Classification of a non-resident member shall be at the discretion of the Board of Governors. Non-resident members classified, as such prior to the adoption of this Constitution shall continue as non-resident members so long as they conform to the requirements of the former Constitution. 


Membership in the Club is nontransferable.
